Join us at Sprocket Roasters, for an afternoon focusing on all things coffee and roasting to update your industry currency and practical skills while networking with like-minded teachers!

Who should attend:

  • Stage 5 and Stage 6 Hospitality teachers.

  • Teachers running coffee programs at secondary schools.

  • Educators interested in linking with industry and sharing ideas.

What to Expect:

This afternoon session is designed for Stage 5 and Stage 6 Hospitality teachers to connect with industry while enjoying a practical hands-on experience to renew and refresh your coffee knowledge and skills.

You’ll log 2+ hours of industry currency and NESA teacher identified PD hours, without the cost or disruption of a full-day course.

Expect some light afternoon refreshments, insights from hospitality professionals, hands on practice, and practical resources you can take back to your classroom. It’s professional learning made easy, affordable and enjoyable.

Inclusions

  • A relaxed afternoon tea on arrival, providing time to connect and settle in.

  • A guided tour of Sprocket Roasters’ environmentally sustainable roasting facility, offering behind-the-scenes insight into modern coffee production.

  • A hands-on barista workshop designed to refresh and extend your coffee teaching skills, including:

    • coffee bean knowledge and industry terminology

    • espresso machine and grinder operation

    • particle size and grind adjustment

    • milk texturing techniques

    • a short presentation on emerging coffee technologies currently used in industry

  • Take-home professional learning resources ready for classroom use, including a venue-based case study and a sample coffee student workbook.

  • Loggable industry currency hours, contributing to VET teacher training requirements and NESA teacher-identified professional development hours.
